McCoy says he received crappy service and that's why he left the pathetic tip. Workers at the restaurant say that McCoy and his friends were insulting and disrespectful from the moment they sat down.

Bids had reached $100K but two different people who made those bids retracted them.

Here's the entire bidding history as of right now. The auction ends on September 20th...

The bidding began in a sane manner...and, then it just got nuts. Wouldn't it be nice to have that kind of money? I can think of so many better things to do with that kind of cash...oh well.
According to the seller's description on eBay the money received from this auction will be divided among all the staff at the burger joint:
The item up for Auction is the controversial $0.20 Receipt for Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean "Shady" McCoy's meal at Philadelphia Restaurant, PYT.
The aforementioned receipt has caused quite the media buzz amongst social media/news networks/celebrities along with many others.
Not only do you get to keep a memento of weird current events/social media history but you also get an autograph from incredibly talented Philadelphia Eagles running back, LeSean McCoy!!!
As to how I came into possession of this item:
My good friend Tommy Up has left this receipt in my possession in order to ensure something positive comes out of this somewhat negative action that has recently taken place.
With your help we'll be able to leave the largest tip possible to all PYT employees for their hard work and dedication.
The only thing we would like to ask on your end is for the winner to write a personalized note or card to the PYT staff, which we give to the staff along with the winning bid/tip. (We want to give credit where credit is due)
Happy Bidding!!!
I don't know how many are employed at the burger joint...but, I'm guessing this will be the largest "tip" all of them will ever receive. Good job, LaSean. Hope you feel like you proved your point...raking-in $45 million+ and not even having the decency to leave a crappy $5.00 tip. You sure showed them! Ha.
I've worked in food service before (and may again in the future). Non-tippers and low-tippers really chap my ass, and as far as I'm concerned, they should never seek the "service" of ANYONE...EVER. In my experience, the "non-tipping class" is so full of themselves that it is not possible to give them the type of service to which they feel they are entitled...yet, they all use "poor service" as a reason for their not tipping. As if their mere presence on earth is the only needed qualifier for having someone come to their table to kiss their ass.
And, those of you who say you CAN'T AFFORD to tip: If you can't afford to tip, you can't afford to eat out. Period. Go to the grocery store and buy TRIPLE the amount of food you could buy for the same amount in ANY low-priced restaurant. Don't expect someone who works just as hard, if not harder, than you do to "serve" you for no tip simply because you opened a door and sat at a table.
